In December 2022, I was appointed to the Zone 3 vacancy on the Moscow School District Board of Trustees. Over the last several months I have learned a lot about the amazing things our community's schools have going on, as well as the significant challenges facing our aging infrastructure. Being part of the search process to name Mr. Shawn Tiegs as the new Superintendent was especially rewarding. It was also eye-opening to see increased attacks on public education from this new vantage point. I am eager to continue my service as a Trustee, making good use of what I've already learned about our multifaceted district. 

I believe it is important for Trustees to be unequivocal champions of public education. I understand the significant time commitment that this position requires, the codes that dictate what Trustees can and cannot do, and the ethics of representing diverse needs. I also feel strongly that there should be representation on the board of parents with young children, those who still have a decade or more of direct involvement with the schools ahead of them. I'm running because I believe public education is foundational to America's success. If you feel the same, I hope you consider voting for me on November 7th.
